Scan asset & downtime
The assets at your customers carry a QR sticker. Scan it with the app and that device’s record opens immediately, and you can record downtime while you work on it.
What you use this for
Section titled “What you use this for”- Opening the right asset at a customer with several identical devices.
- Checking the service history before you start.
- Viewing the asset’s contract, warranty and documents.
- Leaving a note about something you notice but don’t repair.
- Starting and stopping downtime at the real moment.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”Techniekers with an account for the app. What you see of the record depends on your permissions.
Prerequisites: the asset needs a readable QR sticker. Data not yet on your device requires an internet connection.
Scanning an asset
Section titled “Scanning an asset”
The camera ready to scan a QR sticker.
-
Open the app and tap Assets.
-
Tap Scan.
-
Hold the camera over the sticker on the device.
-
The record opens straight away.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”
History, contract, warranty and documents of the device.
The record shows what your permissions allow:
- The service history — who was here before and what was done
- The running maintenance contract
- The warranty
- Documents — manuals, diagrams, inspection reports
- The parts installed previously
Adding a note
Section titled “Adding a note”Spot something that doesn’t warrant a separate intervention — a starting leak, a loose fixing, a question from the customer? Add a note to the asset. It stays with the device for your colleagues.
Recording downtime
Section titled “Recording downtime”
The choice between planned maintenance and a breakdown.
When an asset isn’t running, record it. That is what later makes reliability and availability figures possible.
-
Open the asset (by scanning or from the intervention).
-
Tap Start downtime at the moment the asset is actually down.
-
Choose whether it is planned maintenance or a breakdown.
-
Work on the asset.
-
Tap Stop downtime when it is running again.
If you tap start twice, no second downtime is created. The app also shows you whether a downtime is currently running.
Best practices
Section titled “Best practices”- Always scan, even if you think you recognise the asset.
- Read the history before you start. It is the highest-return fifteen seconds of your day.
- Start and stop downtime at the real moment.
- Leave a note about what you notice but don’t repair.
- Report an unreadable sticker so a new one can be issued.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The sticker is damaged and won’t scan. Find the asset via the customer or the site, and report that the label needs replacing.
I see less than a colleague. What you see depends on your permissions. Your administrator can adjust them.
Does scanning work without internet? The screen participates in the app’s offline behaviour. For data not yet on your device you need a connection.
I forgot to stop the downtime. Stop it as soon as you notice and tell your planner, so the time can be corrected.
